Milford wheelwright from Thorverton

Post by Sarahk » 28 Jan 2018, 21:39

I am trying to find out more detail about George Milford and Son.....described as agricultural machine / wheelwright / horse waggon makers. My husband is a direct descendant. We know he made farm carts, which were 4 wheelers, as did his son . They won prizes at London exhibition, as well as south west shows in 1850's
Any further information and drawings would be very gratefully received.

Many thanks

Sarah

Hi Sarah
You've posted this in the LIBRAL forum, which is really for discussing the online Library of Rural and Agricultural Literature. Now, you might find some advertisements for your wheelwright in there (I have no idea, and it may be like finding a needle in a haystack, unless the search comes up with something!) but would you mind terribly reposting in the Agricultural History forum?

You can sign up for LIBRAL, which is currently in a 'beta-test' phase, on the BAHS web site.

Best wishes

Hi Sarah,

I assume that you have found this - https://www.gracesguide.co.uk/Thomas_Milford_and_Son

and followed through the relevant links?

Best regards, Alan
