Can any one help with the following
Found in a French barn during a clear out was a cast iron name plate with the words in English "THE LION " under a lion rampant. The original colour was a dark red, maroon. It is approx. 23 cm high and 18.5 cm wide. The top bends forwards probably to fit the machinery.
I think that it must have come from some agricultural machine of 19th. /20th century. but can find nothing about manufacturers.
I have photos but can not load them onto my new computer. (my problem not the computers)

Re: The Lion cast iron name plate
For information of anyone who has more knowledge than me I have had information that this is a plate from the rear of a horse drawn hay rake made by Bamfords late 1800 s. Thank for looking.
