Lead artifact. Can anybody identify it?

I discovered a lead artifact whilst metal detecting. I would describe it as a mushroom (7cm dia) with a hollow stem which has been flattened causing the stem to fracture.

My metal detecting club identified this as a lead watering-can rose. I am puzzled as to why a rose would be made of lead when presumably the watering-can would be of another material. I wonder whether it has some agricultural background.

I would appreciate you thoughts as to its identification and its age.

Thank you!

The suggestion that it is a watering can rose is probably correct. Watering cans of 17th and 18th century could have been made of lead. Suggest you contact the Garden Museum for more info https://gardenmuseum.org.uk/
