The British Agricultural Society is excited to announce the first round of its New Researcher Article Prize. The prize will be offered for the best article by an early-career researcher published in the Agricultural History Review in the past two years.

Eligible articles will:

  •  have been published within the previous two years in the Agricultural History Review.
  •  have been submitted by authors within 5 years of their successful viva voce examination.

The prize will be judged by a committee formed by the Society. There is no application process, all eligible articles will automatically be considered by the prize committee.

The winner of the award will be announced at the Society’s Spring Conference in the year following the committee’s decision of the award.  Award winners will be invited to the Spring Conference to receive the award and present a paper.

The first prize, for 2025, will be awarded at the Spring Conference for 2026 based on articles published in volumes 71 and 72 of the Review (2023-24). The value of the prize is £250.
